Rene and Barry Shook were relaxing with their children, four dogs, and two cats when they heard a loud noise and found their “entire porch engulfed in flames,” according to a GoFundMe launched for their support.

The fire ripped through the home, destroyed the family’s car, and claimed the lives of their two cats, according to the fundraiser, which also contains several photos of the unrelenting blaze.

Just under $15,000 had been raised for the family as of Wednesday, July 13.

Meanwhile, an Amazon wishlist has been organized for the family as well.

“This family needs help to get their life back on track and get some sort of roof over their heads and security back while making sense of all this,” reads the campaign, launched by Catherine Fisher.

In the meantime, the Shooks are staying at a hotel and hope to rebuild in the same spot after working with their insurance company, according to WFMZ.

“Please help and donate if you can,” Fisher writes. They’ve lost their home. Their car. Their security.”
